Data Centre Shift Manager - CBRE
Software Engineer
Lead a 24/7 data centre shift, ensuring service level targets, incident resolution, change control and vendor coordination while maintaining operational excellence and capacity planning.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day data centre operations during assigned shifts, ensuring compliance with customer‑specific Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Coordinate incident response, root‑cause analysis and timely resolution, escalating to senior teams when required.
- Manage change requests, maintenance windows and emergency procedures in line with ITIL best practices.
- Monitor infrastructure health using NOC tools, generate performance reports and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead vendor interactions, track service delivery, and ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Maintain accurate shift handover documentation and support capacity planning activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience (3+ years) in data centre or critical environment operations, preferably in a shift‑lead role.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL processes, incident and change management, and data centre infrastructure (power, cooling, networking).
- Hands‑on experience with monitoring platforms (e.g., NOC, DCIM) and ticketing systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams and external vendors.
- Relevant certifications (ITIL, Data Centre Operations, or similar) are a plus.
