Lead the design, implementation and management of physical and operational security for critical data centre infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Australian security standards and driving continuous improvement of security controls.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy and maintain comprehensive physical and operational security controls across data centre sites.
- Lead risk assessments, threat modelling and vulnerability management to protect critical infrastructure.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures and incident response plans in line with Australian Government standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations and compliance teams to integrate security into all phases of data centre development.
- Conduct regular security audits, penetration tests and drills, reporting findings to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Australian citizenship and eligibility for an Australian Government Security Clearance.
- Proven experience managing security for large-scale data centre environments.
- Strong knowledge of physical security technologies, access control, CCTV, and environmental monitoring.
- Experience with risk assessment frameworks, incident response, and compliance (ISO 27001, NIST).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
