Data Center Field Engineer - garmac

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary on‑site liaison between field crews and project managers throughout the data‑center build lifecycle.
• Validate and record field conditions, equipment installations, and cable routing to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation, including as‑built drawings, change orders, and progress reports.
• Support network and infrastructure troubleshooting, coordinating with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues quickly.
• Monitor project schedules and quality metrics, escalating risks and recommending corrective actions to keep milestones on track.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience in data‑center or large‑scale network infrastructure environments.
• Proficiency with networking hardware (e.g., switches, routers, fiber optics) and familiarity with industry standards such as TIA‑942.
• Strong documentation skills and experience using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, rack elevation diagrams, and electrical layouts.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities, with a focus on teamwork and stakeholder coordination.
