Software Engineer
Design and implement a unified retail data platform, defining target-state architecture, integrating diverse data sources, and enabling a single source of truth using cloud technologies and advanced data modeling.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Assess existing retailer data sources and current-state architecture to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Define and document a target-state enterprise retail data architecture that supports a single source of truth.
- Design, develop, and oversee ETL pipelines and data models on cloud platforms such as AWS and Snowflake.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to ensure alignment with retail strategy and data governance standards.
- Establish best practices for data quality, security, and performance monitoring across the data ecosystem.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data architecture or senior data engineering roles, preferably within the retail sector.
- Strong expertise in cloud data platforms (AWS, Snowflake) and relational databases (SQL).
- Proficiency in designing and implementing ETL processes and data models using tools such as Python, dbt, or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and to communicate complex concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications a plus.
