Software Engineer
Lead the design of a modern data architecture for a university health system, driving integration of EMR, analytics and cloud platforms using data modeling, SQL, ETL and healthcare interoperability standards.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement the enterprise data architecture for the health domain, ensuring scalability, security and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Design logical and physical data models that support EMR, clinical analytics, research and reporting workloads.
- Lead the selection and integration of cloud services (AWS/Azure) and on‑premise platforms, establishing data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Implement interoperability standards such as FHIR and HL7 to enable seamless data exchange across clinical systems.
- Collaborate with clinicians, data scientists and IT teams to translate business requirements into robust data solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or senior data engineer in a healthcare or academic health setting.
- Strong expertise in data modeling, SQL, and designing data warehouses or data lakes.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and modern data integration tools.
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7) and data governance best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment.
