Data Analyst
Data Analyst role focused on extracting, cleaning, and visualising data to support Birmingham City Council’s large-scale housing maintenance project, using Python, SQL, Excel and Power BI.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean and transform large datasets from council systems using SQL and Python.
- Develop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to track project performance and key metrics.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Automate routine data extraction and reporting processes to improve efficiency.
- Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous validation and documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data analysis with Python and SQL.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Power BI for reporting and visualisation.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to present findings to non‑technical audiences.
- Experience working in a public sector or large‑scale project environment is a plus.
