Data Scientist
Lead the development of predictive models for solar and wind power generation, leveraging Python, SQL and advanced machine learning techniques to deliver accurate, real‑time forecasts for energy production and grid integration.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain end‑to‑end forecasting pipelines for solar and wind power generation.
- Develop and validate machine learning models (e.g., ARIMA, LSTM, Gradient Boosting) to predict short‑term and medium‑term energy output.
- Extract, clean and transform large datasets from meteorological and grid sources using SQL and Python.
- Collaborate with domain experts to incorporate weather forecasts, turbine performance and PV panel characteristics into models.
- Visualize forecast results and model performance for stakeholders using tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn or Power BI.
- Document methodologies, conduct model audits and continuously improve model accuracy.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with data‑science libraries (pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Solid understanding of time‑series analysis and forecasting techniques.
- Experience with renewable energy data, preferably solar or wind power forecasting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical findings into actionable insights.
