Lead cybersecurity accreditation for mission‑critical Navy systems, driving RMF implementation, ATO acquisition, vulnerability management, and continuous monitoring within a cloud‑based, DoD‑focused environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Authority to Operate (ATO) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities for Navy mission‑critical systems.
- Develop, implement, and maintain vulnerability management and continuous monitoring processes to meet DoD security requirements.
- Design and integrate cloud‑based security controls, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards and policies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to assess risks, produce security documentation, and support automated testing and data analysis pipelines.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on cybersecurity best practices and accreditation processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field with 5+ years of experience in DoD or Navy system security.
- Hands‑on experience with RMF, ATO processes, vulnerability assessment tools, and continuous monitoring solutions.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security architectures and DoD cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., DISA STIGs, NIST SP 800‑53).
- Proven ability to produce and maintain security documentation, risk assessments, and accreditation packages.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary, mission‑critical teams.
