Security Engineer
Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud and on‑premise infrastructures, leveraging Python automation, Linux systems, AWS services, and SIEM tools to detect and respond to threats in a fully remote environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy secure architectures on AWS and hybrid environments, ensuring compliance with DoD and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts in Python to streamline security monitoring, configuration management, and incident response workflows.
- Configure, tune, and manage SIEM platforms to collect, correlate, and analyze security events across the enterprise.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and continuous hardening of Linux and Windows systems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to investigate security incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement remediation actions.
Requirements
- Active Secret security clearance.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, with a focus on cloud (AWS) and on‑premise environments.
- Proficiency in Python scripting and Linux system administration.
- Hands‑on experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and incident response processes.
- Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and security frameworks such as NIST, RMF, or ISO 27001.
