Research Engineer
Cybersecurity Research Engineer focused on developing advanced detection and response capabilities, leveraging Python, C++, Linux, reverse engineering, and malware analysis to protect critical national security systems.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement research prototypes for real‑time detection, analysis, and mitigation of sophisticated cyber threats.
- Conduct deep reverse‑engineering of malware and exploit code to uncover tactics, techniques, and procedures used by adversaries.
- Develop and maintain automated analysis pipelines and tooling using Python and C++ on Linux platforms.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate research outcomes into operational security products and services.
- Produce technical reports, threat briefings, and presentations for senior stakeholders and government partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of hands‑on experience in malware analysis or reverse engineering.
- Proficiency in Python and C/C++ development on Linux environments.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, intrusion detection systems, and modern threat vectors.
- Experience with static and dynamic analysis tools (e.g., IDA Pro, Ghidra, Wireshark, Cuckoo Sandbox).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently, and clear communication of complex technical concepts.
