Lead cybersecurity strategy, governance, and policy for federal and defense missions, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation while engaging stakeholders across government agencies.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and guidelines aligned with federal and defense standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, identify gaps, and recommend mitigation strategies to protect critical infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP, DoD directives) and coordinate audit activities.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners to integrate security controls into program life cycles.
- Prepare and present policy briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity policy, risk management, or compliance within a federal or defense environment.
- Deep knowledge of NIST, DoD, and other relevant frameworks and regulations.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced setting.
