Security Engineer
Lead the design, implementation, and operation of a comprehensive cybersecurity program for a health‑service organization, overseeing risk management, incident response, cloud and network security, and regulatory compliance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve an end‑to‑end cybersecurity strategy aligned with business objectives and health‑data regulations.
- Lead risk assessment and mitigation activities across all technology domains, including cloud, on‑premise, and partner networks.
- Establish and manage incident response processes, conduct investigations, and coordinate remediation with internal teams and external service partners.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PIPEDA, and other relevant standards through policy creation, audits, and regular reporting.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to security engineers, fostering a culture of security awareness throughout the organization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with a proven track record of leading security programs in regulated environments.
- Deep knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure), network security architectures, and vulnerability management tools.
- Hands‑on experience with incident response, threat hunting, and security monitoring platforms.
- Strong understanding of health‑care compliance frameworks (HIPAA, PIPEDA) and ability to translate requirements into actionable controls.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Cloud Security Alliance (CCSA) preferred.
