Security Engineer
A Cybersecurity Firewall Analyst will manage next‑generation firewall platforms, enforce security policies, and lead incident response for enterprise and regulated environments, leveraging Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, SIEM tools, and automation scripting.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain next‑generation firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA) across enterprise and regulated networks.
- Develop, review, and enforce security policies to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal guidelines.
- Monitor firewall logs and SIEM alerts, investigate anomalies, and execute incident response actions.
- Coordinate firewall rule changes with network, application, and security teams, ensuring minimal service disruption.
- Perform regular firewall health checks, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle management activities.
- Automate routine tasks and reporting using Python or comparable scripting languages.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience with next‑generation firewall platforms, preferably Palo Alto Networks and Cisco ASA.
- Strong understanding of security policy design, NAT, VPN, and IDS/IPS concepts.
- Proven incident response experience, including log analysis and SIEM integration.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation and reporting.
- Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks PCNSE, Cisco CCNP Security, or CISSP are a plus.
