Cybersecurity Engineer focused on securing Modeling & Simulation software, collaborating with developers, data scientists, and analysts to implement threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and secure coding practices across cloud and on‑prem environments.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for new and existing M&S software components.
- Perform vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and remediate findings in collaboration with development teams.
- Implement secure coding guidelines, code reviews, and automated security checks within CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2) and internal security policies.
- Collaborate with cloud architects to harden AWS and Azure environments, manage IAM, and enforce least‑privilege access.
- Provide security training and awareness sessions for cross‑functional teams.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or related field.
- Hands‑on experience with threat modeling frameworks (STRIDE, PASTA) and vulnerability assessment tools (Nessus, OpenVAS, Burp Suite).
- Proficiency in secure coding practices for languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, and DevSecOps principles.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
