Security Engineer
Design and implement robust security solutions for mission‑critical Department of Defense systems, focusing on network protection, risk mitigation, and secure cloud architectures using Python and modern security frameworks.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate security architectures for mission‑critical DoD and Army systems.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and threat modeling to identify and remediate security gaps.
- Implement network security controls, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and secure communication protocols.
- Design and maintain secure cloud environments, applying best practices for AWS and other cloud platforms.
- Automate security testing and monitoring using Python scripts and security tooling.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with DoD security standards and continuous improvement of security posture.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility for continuous evaluation.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, preferably within defense or federal environments.
- Strong knowledge of network security, security architecture, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and security tool integration.
- Experience securing cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and implementing cloud‑native security controls.
