Security Engineer
Mid‑level Cybersecurity Engineer responsible for protecting federal systems through network security, vulnerability assessments, incident response, and automation using Python and SIEM tools.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls for federal networks and systems.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis to identify and remediate threats.
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents using SIEM platforms and established response procedures.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., Python) to streamline security operations and reporting.
- Collaborate with engineering and program teams to integrate security requirements into system architectures.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity engineering or related roles.
- Proficiency with network security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs) and SIEM tools.
- Strong knowledge of vulnerability assessment methodologies and remediation processes.
- Experience scripting/automation using Python or similar languages.
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
