Security Engineer
Cybersecurity Engineer responsible for creating security documentation, risk analyses, and protection plans for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Electronic Systems portfolio, ensuring compliance with federal standards and safeguarding mission-critical software and hardware.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain System Security Management Plans, Program Protection Plans, and OPSEC Plans for the ESS portfolio.
- Conduct Security Risk Analyses and vulnerability assessments for both software and hardware components.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security controls into design, development, and testing phases.
- Ensure compliance with DoD and Air Force cybersecurity standards and guidelines.
- Document security findings, recommend mitigations, and track remediation progress.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, DoD RMF) and Air Force security requirements.
- Experience creating security documentation and performing risk analyses.
- Knowledge of secure software development practices and hardware security principles.
- Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, GSEC, or equivalent) preferred.
