Security Engineer
Cybersecurity Analyst responsible for automating security baselines, managing vulnerability scans, and remediating findings across legacy and virtualized environments using Ansible, Bash, Python, ACAS, and Nessus.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and tear down system baselines on lab equipment using the lab management server to support testing and scanning.
- Develop, maintain, and execute Ansible playbooks and Bash/Python scripts to automate routing cybersecurity tasks, configuration deployments, and STIG remediation.
- Conduct recurring vulnerability scans with ACAS and Nessus across legacy and modern virtualized architectures.
- Manage Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) data, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of remediation status.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to prioritize and remediate identified vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with security policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Ansible, Bash, and Python scripting for security automation.
- Hands‑on knowledge of ACAS, Nessus, and vulnerability remediation processes.
- Strong understanding of STIGs and security baseline configuration.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
