Security Engineer
Protect critical water infrastructure by monitoring, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats in operational technology environments using SCADA security, incident response, and risk assessment techniques.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor OT networks and SCADA systems for security events, anomalies, and potential threats.
- Conduct incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and post‑incident analysis.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and risk analyses on industrial control systems following NIST and IEC 62443 guidelines.
- Develop and maintain security policies, hardening guides, and detection rules specific to OT environments.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement security controls without disrupting critical water services.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience securing industrial control systems, SCADA, or other OT environments.
- Proficiency with security tools such as IDS/IPS, firewalls, and SIEM platforms; scripting ability in Python for automation and analysis.
- Strong understanding of NIST Cybersecurity Framework, IEC 62443, and OT‑specific risk management practices.
- Hands‑on experience with incident response, threat hunting, and vulnerability remediation in OT networks.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., GICSP, CISSP, CISA) are a plus.
