Security Engineer
Experienced cybersecurity analyst skilled in RMF, vulnerability and threat assessments, and software assurance to evaluate and improve the security posture of complex defense systems.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Apply the Risk Management Framework to conduct security control, vulnerability, and risk assessments for large defense systems.
- Perform threat modeling, gap analysis, and capability maturity assessments to identify security weaknesses.
- Develop and deliver detailed cybersecurity reports, recommendations, and remediation plans to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with software assurance and system engineering teams to integrate security requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
- Maintain compliance with applicable defense and federal cybersecurity standards and guidelines.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity analysis, preferably within defense or aerospace environments.
- Strong knowledge of RMF processes, NIST SP 800‑53, and related security frameworks.
- Proven ability to conduct vulnerability assessments, threat analysis, and produce actionable security documentation.
- Experience with software assurance practices and risk assessment methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills for interfacing with technical and non‑technical audiences.
