Systems Engineer
Design, implement, and secure complex cyber systems for national security missions, leveraging expertise in network engineering, Linux/Windows environments, Python automation, and cloud security architectures.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate secure cyber architectures for mission‑critical systems, ensuring compliance with DoD and NIST standards.
- Design, configure, and harden network infrastructures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Automate security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management using Python scripts and SIEM tools.
- Assess and mitigate risks across on‑premise and cloud environments (AWS/Azure), providing guidance on secure configuration and continuous compliance.
- Collaborate with program managers, engineers, and government stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and deliver actionable security documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field with 5+ years of experience in cyber systems engineering.
- Hands‑on experience securing Linux and Windows platforms, including hardening, patch management, and forensic analysis.
- Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and tool development.
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS technologies.
- Experience with cloud security architectures (AWS or Azure) and familiarity with NIST, RMF, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
