Systems Engineer

About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and develop secure, scalable software solutions for cyber defense missions across land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace domains.
- Implement secure coding practices, conduct threat modeling, and perform rigorous code reviews to ensure compliance with government security standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate software with existing systems, leveraging DevSecOps pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
- Analyze and mitigate emerging cyber threats, providing actionable insights to improve system resilience.
- Document design decisions, technical specifications, and security controls for audit and compliance purposes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in secure software development and systems engineering for defense or government environments.
- Proficiency in secure coding languages (C/C++, Java, Python) and familiarity with OWASP Top 10, NIST, and DoD security frameworks.
- Hands‑on experience with DevSecOps tools (CI/CD, containerization, IaC) and cloud security best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work in a highly collaborative, mission‑critical setting.
