Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of security controls across a large health services organization, driving risk mitigation, incident response, and compliance using SIEM, cloud security, and vulnerability management tools.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the enterprise cyber security strategy, aligning controls with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead incident detection, analysis, and response activities, coordinating cross‑functional teams and external partners.
- Manage and tune SIEM platforms, threat intelligence feeds, and security monitoring processes to ensure timely detection of threats.
- Oversee vulnerability assessment programs, prioritize remediation, and work with engineering teams to implement fixes.
- Provide risk assessments and guidance for cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and ensure secure architecture designs.
- Mentor junior analysts, conduct security awareness training, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in cyber security, preferably in health care or highly regulated industries.
- Strong knowledge of incident response frameworks, SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), and vulnerability management solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in cloud security concepts and compliance standards such as HIPAA, HITRUST, and ISO 27001.
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, GSEC, or equivalent) and a proven track record of leading security initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
