Remote Cyber Security Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring security solutions, conducting vulnerability assessments, and responding to incidents using Python, AWS, and SIEM technologies while maintaining a Secret clearance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage security controls across cloud (AWS) and on‑premise environments.
- Perform continuous vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and threat modeling for mission‑critical applications.
- Develop and maintain automated security scripts and tools using Python to streamline detection and response workflows.
- Monitor, analyze, and triage alerts from SIEM platforms, leading incident response and forensic investigations.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security best practices into the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Active Secret security clearance.
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience in network security, cloud security (AWS), and incident response.
- Proficiency in Python for security automation and scripting.
- Experience with SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability management tools.
- Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards.
