Security Engineer
Design, configure, and integrate robust cyber security solutions for rail transportation systems, ensuring safety and resilience through risk assessment, security architecture, and incident response across industrial control environments.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement security architectures for rail‑based industrial control systems (ICS) and SCADA environments.
- Conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate potential attack vectors.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain network security controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems specific to rail infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to integrate security requirements into system designs and maintenance processes.
- Lead incident response activities, perform forensic analysis, and develop remediation plans for security events.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as IEC 62443, ISO 27001, and relevant railway safety regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Electrical Engineering, or related field; relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, GICSP) preferred.
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience securing industrial control systems, preferably in transportation or critical infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and secure communication standards for rail systems.
- Proven ability to perform risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response in complex, safety‑critical environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
