Cyber Security Consultant - Product Security Test Engineer - HRNET ONE PTE LTD

Our client is a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) — helping manufacturers bring safe, compliant products to market across industrial, medical, and consumer sectors. As product cybersecurity becomes a regulatory requirement worldwide, they are establishing a brand-new cybersecurity certification function in Singapore and are looking for a technically strong engineer to help build it from the ground up.

About the Role

This is a newly created position — you will be instrumental in setting up the cybersecurity laboratory, defining test procedures, and delivering product security assessments against international standards. It offers rare ownership: rather than inheriting an established framework, you'll be shaping how the function operates.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up cybersecurity laboratories — define test procedures, select and commission test equipment, and establish operating protocols.
• Conduct product cybersecurity testing against international standards across industrial, medical, and consumer product categories.
• Perform security assessments for customers, including penetration testing of products and networks.
• Communicate findings clearly — explain test results, technical decisions, and remediation recommendations to customers and engineering teams.
• Produce technical reports documenting test methodology, findings, and certification outcomes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electronics Engineering — preferably with coursework in information security or cryptography.
• Professional certification preferred (either one): CISSP, CEH, OSCP, CompTIA Security+, or CISA .

Experience

• ~3 years in product cybersecurity, security development, software product development, or penetration testing.
• Hands-on with network implementation and testing — WiFi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, mobile protocols.
• Familiarity with data protection frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA).

Standards Knowledge— Essential

• Industrial: IEC62443 series and/or
• Medical: IEC 60601-4-5, UL 2900-2-1 and/or
• Consumer: EN ETSI 303 645 and/or
• Others: UL 2900, Common Criteria (IEC 15408), PCI-DSS, ISO/IEC 27000
