Software Engineer
Design, develop, and maintain cyber range environments using Python, C++, Linux, and cloud virtualization technologies to support realistic training and testing for federal defense and civilian agencies.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and operate scalable cyber range platforms leveraging AWS, virtualization (VMware, KVM) and container technologies.
- Develop automation scripts and tools in Python and C++ to provision scenarios, inject threats, and collect telemetry.
- Integrate network, endpoint, and cloud security solutions to emulate realistic adversary tactics and techniques.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design training curricula, validate performance metrics, and ensure compliance with federal security standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, performing root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement of the range environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience in cyber range or simulation environments.
- Proficiency in Python and C++ for automation and tool development.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Linux system administration and virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, Docker).
- Experience deploying and managing workloads on AWS, including networking, IAM, and security services.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity concepts, threat modeling, and defensive/offensive techniques.
