About the Role
We are looking for a permanent Consulting Manager to join our Consulting Team. As a Consulting Manager, you will be leading large AI-related consulting projects or programmes for clients in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Americas, and Asia Pacific regions as required. Flexible and virtual working would be required, and some travel is expected. Billable client delivery is expected to be approximately 70% of total role time.
You will also play a key role in developing propositions for BSI’s newly created consulting business, with a focus on delivering business outcome-driven objectives for clients through the practical application of best practices. This role offers the opportunity for an entrepreneurial consultant to help shape a new business area, contribute to the development of a new team, and make a high impact both for BSI and its clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Help to identify and facilitate discussions with potential clients in collaboration with our Business Development team, shape proposals, and contribute to the sale of billable consulting services.
- Identify opportunities in the market and support other external marketing initiatives to promote these propositions and capabilities, e.g., representing BSI at events, creating whitepapers & collateral.
- Help create, scope, price, and deliver bid proposals in collaboration with our Business Development team to secure Knowledge Solutions consulting business.
- Manage relationships with third-party partners as required to deliver consulting services, acting as the main BSI representative in these relationships.
- Work closely with other BSI business areas to ensure high-quality team delivery in won business, acting as an interface and knowledge source, and meeting or exceeding agreed customer satisfaction targets.
What we are looking for:
- Educated to a degree level or equivalent experience.
- Ability to talk credibly about AI including market trends and developments, challenges, and opportunities, and demonstrate a genuine passion for the field.
- Strong consulting experience in the delivery of high-impact advisory work, including the ability to collect, interpret and analyse data to extract insights and make informed recommendations.
- Experience of working closely with key stakeholders whilst building and maintaining key client relationships to achieve desired outcomes.
- Excellent networker with demonstrable communication, persuasion, and influencing skills, and specifically, the ability to articulate the benefits of advisory consulting services.
- Experience of helping to shape and sell consulting opportunities, with the proven ability to win client trust.
- Experience working in and managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience of working across a range of international markets with a culturally diverse client base, ideally across the public and private sectors.
- Experience of successfully operating within a matrix organisation.
- Ideally, but not compulsory, experience or knowledge of standards creation and development.
- Ideally, but not compulsory, a degree or equivalent in AI or related field in data science, digital service transformation, or Business, Economics, or other areas relevant to AI.
