Computer Vision Engineer
As a Computer Vision Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the relative navigation system for satellites, leveraging computer vision to enable autonomous rendezvous and docking. This involves designing and implementing advanced computer vision algorithms, sensor processing, and fusion for real-time state estimation, and optimizing models for space-grade edge hardware.
We are building the robotic workforce to unlock a sustainable in-space economy and expand humanity's reach in space exploration, starting with extending the life of satellites that are running out of fuel with our jetpacks. At the heart of this vision is our RPOD (Rendezvous, Proximity Operations & Docking) technology, a critical enabler for the future of space operations. We are looking for exceptional, mission-driven individuals to shape this technology from the ground up together with the founding team.
Satellite rendezvous requires determining the relative position, velocity, and orientation of two spacecraft moving at several kilometers per second - all in real time. In this role, you will own the development of our relative navigation system: from defining requirements and designing architectures, to building algorithms and validating them with synthetic datasets and hardware-in-the-loop testing. You’ll have the chance to shape this technology from scratch, leveraging computer vision to enable autonomous satellite rendezvous and docking.
