Systems Engineer
Design and support emergency communications systems, providing architecture reviews, IP network routing, and risk mitigation for E‑911 and SIP call delivery across government and contractor environments.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate provisioning activities with government and prime contractor stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of emergency communication systems.
- Perform systems engineering and architecture reviews, including interface analysis and technical assessments for E‑911 and SIP call routing.
- Analyze IP network routing dependencies, interconnection performance, and resolve SIP call‑path issues affecting emergency call delivery.
- Support DISA VISP location provisioning, validate records, and correct location discrepancies that impact call routing.
- Identify, escalate, and mitigate risks, developing mitigation plans to maintain system reliability and compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in systems engineering and IP network design, preferably with emergency communications (E‑911, SIP).
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols, network performance analysis, and troubleshooting of call‑path issues.
- Experience conducting architecture reviews, interface analysis, and technical risk assessments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with government agencies and prime contractors, managing provisioning and validation processes.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.
