About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement the command and control subsystem for a laser directed energy weapon, ensuring integration with existing naval systems.
- Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, coordinating design reviews, code quality, and testing activities.
- Develop real‑time embedded software in C++ and validate performance against stringent operational requirements.
- Collaborate with system, integration, and test teams to deliver a robust, secure, and maintainable solution.
- Maintain documentation, risk assessments, and compliance with defence standards and security clearance protocols.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in embedded C++ development for real‑time systems.
- Proven track record in systems engineering for defence or high‑performance applications.
- Strong knowledge of command and control architectures and laser weapon systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
- Valid British citizenship or dual UK nationality with clearance to work on classified projects.
