Cloud Systems Engineer Remote - DePaul University

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams) to ensure high availability and security for faculty, staff, and students.
• Architect, provision, and monitor Azure resources, integrating them with on‑premises infrastructure to support research and instructional workloads.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Azure CLI to streamline provisioning, configuration, and compliance tasks.
• Implement security best practices, including identity management, conditional access, data loss prevention, and regular vulnerability assessments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot incidents, optimize performance, and drive continuous improvement of the cloud ecosystem.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience managing Microsoft 365 and Azure environments in an enterprise or higher‑education setting.
• Strong scripting skills with PowerShell; familiarity with Azure Resource Manager templates or Terraform is a plus.
• Deep understanding of cloud security concepts, identity and access management, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience integrating on‑premises systems (Windows Server, Hyper‑V, or VMware) with Azure services.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
