Cloud Engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and securing cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, leveraging Terraform, Kubernetes, Python automation, and CI/CD pipelines to support mission‑critical defense applications.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable cloud architectures on AWS and Azure for classified and unclassified workloads.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform and Python scripts.
- Deploy, manage, and monitor containerized applications with Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and compliance with DoD security standards.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins) to streamline code delivery and enforce automated security testing.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and operations teams to harden cloud environments, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to incidents.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud services in a security‑focused environment.
- Proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code tools, especially Terraform, and scripting with Python.
- Strong knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipeline creation.
- Understanding of federal security frameworks (e.g., NIST, DISA STIG) and experience implementing compliance controls.
- Clearance eligibility and ability to work in classified settings preferred.
