About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily operations and maintenance of the engine room, ensuring optimal performance of propulsion and auxiliary systems.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary crew, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with the technical department to plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
- Implement and enforce safety and environmental regulations, maintaining compliance with IMO and local maritime authorities.
- Manage budgets, resource allocation, and procurement of spare parts and equipment.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in marine engineering, preferably with gas‑shipping or similar vessels.
- Strong knowledge of propulsion systems, power generation, and marine machinery.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a diverse technical team.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance planning.
- Familiarity with IMO regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance.
