Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) & Practice Lead

Role Overview

NeverHyde is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) to lead and scale our CAIO Practice, serving as a critical driver of AI-driven business transformation for clients. This role combines strategic leadership, client-facing expertise, and practice development to build NeverHyde’s reputation as a leader in AI program strategy and management. As the CAIO and Practice Lead, you will be an integral part of our Leadership Team, initially billable as a fractional or interim CAIO while working with our Leaders to grow the practice.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, allowing you to start as a contractor and transition into a full-time leadership role. This is a critical role and we want both sides to be comfortable before converting to full-time employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic AI Leadership: Serve as a fractional or interim CAIO for clients, designing and executing AI strategies aligned with their business goals. Define KPIs, track performance, and ensure successful AI initiative delivery.
• Practice Development: Develop the vision, frameworks, and methodologies for NeverHyde’s CAIO Practice. Standardize best practices for AI leadership and create scalable tools to ensure high-impact client engagements.
• Client Advisory and Collaboration: Collaborate with C-suite executives to evaluate AI readiness, identify opportunities, and deliver actionable AI roadmaps. Oversee and guide the implementation of AI strategies to drive meaningful organizational transformation.
• Team Growth and Leadership: Build and lead a team of fractional CAIOs and AI consultants. Cultivate a culture of innovation, client focus, and excellence, while mentoring team members to deliver exceptional results.
• Thought Leadership and Advocacy: Represent NeverHyde as a leading voice in the AI space through industry publications, whitepapers, webinars, and conferences. Champion responsible AI adoption and showcase NeverHyde’s expertise.
• AI Governance and Ethics: Ensure all engagements prioritize ethical AI use, data security, and regulatory compliance. Develop governance frameworks to support responsible AI integration.

Qualifications

• Leadership Experience: 5+ years in senior roles such as CAIO, CTO, or AI Strategy Lead with proven success in implementing AI transformations. Experience in AI consulting is highly valued.
• AI Expertise: Deep knowledge of AI technologies (ML, NLP, computer vision, generative AI), governance, and ethical considerations.
• Strategic Acumen: Strong ability to align AI strategies with business goals to achieve measurable outcomes.
• Communication and Leadership: Exceptional skills in influencing and inspiring executives and technical teams.
• Industry Insight: In-depth knowledge of AI applications across sectors such as healthcare, finance, retail, and manufacturing.
