About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop polymer‑based sealant formulations that meet fire‑stop performance criteria.
- Plan, execute, and analyze firestop qualification tests in accordance with ASTM, UL, and NFPA standards.
- Characterize material properties (viscosity, cure kinetics, thermal stability) using DSC, TGA, rheology, and other analytical techniques.
- Collaborate with product development, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure code compliance and successful product launch.
- Document test results, generate technical reports, and support field troubleshooting for installed firestop systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in polymer formulation, sealants, or firestop product development.
- Proficiency with materials characterization tools and fire‑testing protocols (ASTM E814, E119, UL 1479, etc.).
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to interpret test data to drive formulation improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for cross‑functional collaboration and technical documentation.
