Field‑based CCTV Engineer responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining IP‑based security and video surveillance systems across client sites, providing technical support and ensuring reliable operation.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure and commission IP CCTV and video surveillance equipment at customer locations.
- Run and terminate network cabling, set up PoE switches and ensure proper connectivity for camera systems.
- Perform on‑site troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs to minimise downtime.
- Provide technical guidance to clients, produce as‑built documentation and deliver post‑installation training.
- Coordinate with project managers to schedule work, track progress and meet service level agreements.
Requirements
- Proven experience installing and maintaining IP‑based CCTV or security systems.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, PoE, VLANs and Ethernet cabling standards.
- Hands‑on ability to work with Linux‑based NVRs, video management software and related hardware.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently on client sites.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel across London and surrounding areas.
