Software Engineer
Lead structural design and analysis using CATIA in a shipbuilding environment, ensuring compliance with naval standards and optimizing performance through advanced CAD and FEA techniques.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed structural models in CATIA for naval vessels, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Perform finite element analysis to evaluate structural integrity, identify stress concentrations, and recommend design improvements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural solutions into overall ship design, addressing weight, manufacturability, and cost constraints.
- Document design decisions, create technical drawings, and support change control processes throughout the product lifecycle.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving structural issues during fabrication and testing phases.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Naval Architecture Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience with CATIA for structural design and 3D modeling.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of naval shipbuilding standards and practices is highly desirable.
