Software Engineer
Seeking a Business Systems Developer to drive digital transformation in an engineering firm by automating processes, integrating systems, and delivering business intelligence solutions using Python, SQL, Power BI, Azure, and API technologies.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation and digital improvement.
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting solutions using Power BI and SQL.
- Build and integrate APIs and cloud services (Azure) to connect legacy systems with modern platforms.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to translate strategic goals into technical specifications and deliverable roadmaps.
- Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and optimisation of deployed solutions to ensure reliability and performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience developing automation scripts and applications with Python.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
- Hands‑on experience with Power BI or similar BI tools to create interactive visualisations.
- Familiarity with Azure services (Functions, Logic Apps, Data Factory) and API design/consumption.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally, communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders, and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
