Business Systems Analyst on a one‑year contract, driving process improvement and data‑driven solutions across campus operations using Agile, SQL, and Power BI to translate stakeholder needs into actionable system enhancements.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with academic and administrative stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business requirements for new and existing systems.
- Conduct process mapping and gap analysis to identify opportunities for efficiency and automation.
- Develop functional specifications, use cases, and data flow diagrams to guide development and testing teams.
- Analyze data sets using SQL and Power BI to generate insights, reports, and dashboards that support decision‑making.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives) and maintain product backlog prioritization.
- Provide training and support to end users, ensuring smooth adoption of system enhancements.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role in an educational or enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in SQL, Microsoft Power BI, and process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear specifications.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and familiarity with Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
