Business Systems Analyst responsible for translating stakeholder needs into functional specifications, analyzing data, and driving process improvements using SQL, Tableau, and Agile practices to support regional transportation and infrastructure projects.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, document, and analyze business requirements from stakeholders across transportation, wastewater, and housing domains.
- Translate requirements into detailed functional specifications and user stories for development teams.
- Conduct data analysis using SQL and Tableau to identify trends, support decision‑making, and measure project outcomes.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives) to ensure timely delivery of solutions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, test, and implement system enhancements and process improvements.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role in a complex, data‑driven environment.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis, and Tableau for data visualization.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Scrum or Kanban teams.
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) and documentation best practices.
