Software Engineer
Business Systems Analyst responsible for gathering and translating requirements, modeling processes, and supporting the modernization of Defense Information System Network operations using Agile, SQL, and UML techniques.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements for DISA network operations and modernization initiatives.
- Develop process models, use case diagrams, and data flow diagrams (UML) to communicate system behavior and support solution design.
- Translate requirements into detailed functional specifications and user stories for Agile development teams.
- Perform data analysis and query development using SQL to support reporting, performance monitoring, and decision‑making.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Provide ongoing support for system testing, issue resolution, and post‑implementation validation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in business analysis within large‑scale, mission‑critical IT environments, preferably in defense or federal sectors.
- Proficiency in requirements gathering, process modeling, and creating UML artifacts.
- Hands‑on experience with SQL for data extraction and analysis.
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) and ability to work in hybrid on‑site/off‑site settings.
