Business Systems Analyst who partners with federal stakeholders to capture requirements, design data models, build system modules, and create reports while working in an Agile two‑person development team.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with client stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
- Design, develop, and test new system modules and enhancements in a fast‑paced, two‑person development environment.
- Create and maintain SQL‑based reports and dashboards that support federal program outcomes.
- Translate requirements into data models, process flows, and technical specifications using UML or similar notation.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in business analysis or systems analysis, preferably within government or federal IT projects.
- Proficiency with SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and ability to work effectively in small, collaborative teams.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and documentation.
- Experience with data modeling, requirements documentation, and creating functional specifications.
