Software Engineer
Lead enterprise data initiatives for a national nonprofit, defining data strategy, building data pipelines, and delivering actionable insights using SQL, Python, and modern cloud platforms.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the organization’s data strategy, establishing standards for data collection, storage, and governance.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and data models to support reporting, analytics, and machine‑learning initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver actionable insights.
- Implement and manage data visualization solutions, creating dashboards and reports for leadership and program stakeholders.
- Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across cloud and on‑premise environments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics, preferably in the nonprofit or public‑sector space.
- Proficiency with SQL and Python for data manipulation, analysis, and automation.
- Strong background in data modeling, ETL design, and working with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience building interactive visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross‑functional projects from concept to delivery.
