About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead building performance analysis, including HVAC sizing, energy modeling, and indoor environmental quality assessments for new and retrofitted projects.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and sustainability specialists to integrate Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows and ensure design intent aligns with performance goals.
- Develop and maintain Building Science protocols, standards, and documentation, ensuring compliance with ASHRAE, LEED, and local codes.
- Conduct field investigations, data collection, and post‑occupancy evaluations to validate design performance and recommend improvements.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on emerging building science technologies and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in building performance, HVAC design, or energy modeling.
- Proficiency with energy simulation tools (e.g., IES VE, eQUEST, EnergyPlus) and BIM software (Revit, Navisworks).
- Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards, LEED certification processes, and sustainable design principles.
- Excellent communication, project management, and problem‑solving skills.
