Software Engineer
Support the Artificial Heart Program by setting up, transporting, and troubleshooting VAD equipment, managing battery issuance and testing, and preparing pumps for implantation—all while maintaining deep knowledge of cardiovascular physiology.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup, switch‑out, and transport of VAD equipment in hospital and patient home settings.
- Conduct battery issuance, testing, and provide user education for VAD systems.
- Prepare pumps and associated hardware for implantation and startup, ensuring all components are sterile and functional.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues promptly, coordinating with clinical staff to minimize downtime.
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment status, maintenance, and performance metrics.
Requirements
- Background in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or related field.
- Hands‑on experience with ventricular assist devices or similar cardiovascular support systems.
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular physiology and device operation.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in fast‑paced environments.
- Effective communication skills for training clinicians and patients on device use.
