Support the Artificial Heart Program by setting up, transporting, and troubleshooting VAD equipment, managing battery issuance, and preparing pumps for implantation—all while applying deep knowledge of cardiovascular physiology.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, transport, and troubleshoot VAD equipment in hospital and patient home settings.
- Issue, test, and educate patients on VAD batteries, ensuring optimal performance.
- Prepare pumps and associated hardware for implantation and startup procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment status, battery life, and patient education sessions.
- Collaborate with clinical and engineering teams to refine device protocols and improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Background in bioengineering or related biomedical field.
- Hands‑on experience with ventricular assist devices and cardiovascular physiology.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in dynamic environments.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
