Software Engineer
Backend Software Engineer building the infrastructure that lets AI agents control automated biology labs. Work on cloud-native services, APIs, and scalable data pipelines using Python, Go, and AWS technologies.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement high‑performance backend services that expose lab hardware to AI agents via robust APIs.
- Develop data pipelines for real‑time experiment monitoring, result storage, and feedback loops.
- Deploy, scale, and maintain cloud‑native infrastructure on AWS using Kubernetes and Docker.
- Collaborate with AI research, robotics, and biotech teams to translate experimental protocols into software‑driven workflows.
- Ensure system reliability, security, and compliance with biotech industry standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience building backend systems, preferably in Python and/or Go.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Experience with RESTful/GraphQL API design, message queues, and event‑driven architectures.
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
- Ability to work in a fast‑moving, interdisciplinary environment and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
