Backend Engineer
Backend Engineer building a HIPAA‑compliant healthcare clearinghouse using Python, Node.js, and AWS. Design and maintain scalable services, integrate EDI X12 transactions, and ensure data security and compliance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high‑availability backend services in Python and Node.js for processing EDI X12 transactions.
- Implement secure data pipelines and storage solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as RDS, S3, and Lambda.
- Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate deployments using Kubernetes.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, including data encryption, audit logging, and access controls.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define API contracts, performance metrics, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows.
Requirements
- 3+ years of backend development experience with Python and Node.js.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture best practices.
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with relational databases (SQL) and data modeling.
- Understanding of EDI X12 standards and HIPAA compliance requirements.
