Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure data architectures on Azure, driving data modeling, integration, and performance for complex government workloads.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of complex, scalable data architectures (relational and NoSQL) on Azure, including schemas, tables, views, and indexing strategies.
- Own data modeling, governance, and metadata management to ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance with government standards.
- Architect and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Azure Databricks, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, providing architecture reviews and approvals.
- Implement security, monitoring, and disaster recovery strategies for data platforms, ensuring resilience and auditability.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture and engineering, with a strong focus on Azure services.
- Proven expertise in SQL, NoSQL, and data modeling best practices.
- Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, and related ecosystem tools.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in a government environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
